Backend Engineer (Node.js/PostgreSQL)

We’re seeking a Backend Engineer to power the AI-driven experience behind our social consumer app. In this role, you’ll lead development of our Node.js backend and scale our platform (MongoDB, Kubernetes) to support billions of AI-generated images and social interactions. As one of our first engineers, you’ll directly work with our CEO and have a huge impact on architecture and product direction.

Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js (TypeScript).
• Design and optimize relational databases.
• Develop and integrate APIs for seamless frontend-backend communication.
• Implement authentication, security best practices, and rate limiting.
• Monitor and improve system performance and reliability.

Requirements:
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and MongoDB
• Experience with Redis, WebSockets, and real-time architecture.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Firebase, or similar).
• Knowledge of CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and cloud services (AWS/GCP).
• Bonus: Experience working with AI/ML pipelines or gaming/social platforms.
